Role purpose:

We’re looking for a skilled and motivated Groundsperson to join our growing team. This role offers variety, responsibility, and the opportunity to develop technical skills, leadership capability, and industry knowledge in a supportive environment.

The Groundsperson works closely with the Lead Climber and Second Climber to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality tree surgery operations. This includes supporting climbers during aerial work, managing ground-based tasks, operating machinery, performing aerial rescues when required, and delivering excellent customer service. 

Key Responsibilities

• Perform ground-based tree surgery tasks, including felling, removals, stump grinding, and site clearance to industry best practice. 
• Support climbers by managing the ground operation, processing and removing debris efficiently. 
• Provide aerial rescue cover when required. 
• Lead ground-based operations and oversee safe job completion when acting as team leader. 
• Operate, maintain, and perform safety checks on tree surgery equipment, vehicles, and tools. 
• Drive and coordinate company vehicles between the yard and job sites when required.
• Follow all health and safety protocols, including risk assessments for each job.
• Ensure efficient use of company resources and contribute to cost-effective working practices. 
• Keep industry knowledge and qualifications up to date through continuous professional development. 
• Handle all company and client information in line with confidentiality and data governance requirements. 
• Promote and uphold our company values: teamwork, respect, communication, great customer service, and accountability.
