Our kit is regularly tested by our LOLER qualified inspectors and renewed if necessary to make sure we improve our working methods and maintain best practice.
Is my tree protected by the Local Authority?
Some trees are protected by Preservation orders placed upon them by the local authority. Conservation areas, also determined by Councils local authorities which means the tree owner or contractor must notify the Council of work on a tree in a conservation area over 7.5 centimetres in diameter, measured 1.5 metres above the ground (or 10 centimetres if thinning to help the growth of other trees).
We will deal directly with Councils to apply on your behalf for any necessary permission. Provided we carry out the agreed works, there is no charge for this although we will usually only recommend works which we believe are likely to receive consent.
Gaining permission to work on a protected tree is very important, especially where removal of the tree is sought. However, where any pruning of protected trees is required permission must be arranged.
