Role purpose:

Key Aims:

As an Estimator, you will be responsible for assessing job requirements, estimating costs, and preparing detailed quotes. You will work closely with the operation managers, and other stakeholders to ensure accurate and comprehensive estimates.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyse job requirements and develop specifications.
  • Calculate costs of materials, labour, equipment, and other expenses.
  • Identify potential risks and uncertainties and the impact
  • Prepare and submit detailed cost estimates and bids.
  • Source and negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Compile and present cost reports and estimates to stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders .

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in a similar role, preferably in construction or engineering.
  • Strong analytical and mathematical skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Effective communication and negotiation skills.
  • Certification as a Certified Professional Estimator (CPE) is a plus.

Experience

You will need to have:

  • Computer skills (e.g. email, document management etc)
  • Effective communications skills – verbal and written
  • Skills to manage conflicting priorities and manage workload
  • Establishing and implementing yard policies, procedures, and safety guidelines
  • Maintaining accurate records of inventory, work schedules, and work orders
  • Maintaining equipment and monitoring compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Troubleshooting technical issues and resolving customer complaints
