Commercial property maintenance – Climbing high in Westminster!

In early 2026 we were asked by an established commercial property client to carry out the regular maintenance required for a row of 8 large London Plane trees on Westbourne Terrace in London.

We started by conducting a tree survey – identifying, mapping, commenting on the trees condition and safety and then recommending works to ensure the long term health and safety of the trees which are all subject to Tree preservation orders by the local authority (LA)

Once the works were approved by the LA we clarified the traffic management plan (the trees overhang a busy 4 lane road) and worked towards a date in September to avoid the summer months (Plane tree dust can cause irritation to pedestrians and tree surgeons so Autumn and Winter is ideal)

Saturday 11th September arrived and a team of 9 operatives arrived with 2 trucks and 2 MEWPS (Cherry pickers) to carry out the work.

By 3pm all work had been completed (lifting of crowns, cutting back from buildings, removal of deadwood and Massaria checks for health and safety)

    A]It was a successful day’s work because…

    • Great project management
    • Motivated staff with clear communication
    • Teamwork from all parties involved
    • The right kit for the job
